Business address for an LLC: a virtual address in a real building

A business address for an LLC costs from $47 a month here, and a full virtual office from $103. The catalogue lists 2,189 staffed buildings in 796 US cities across 35 states, run by HQ, No18, Regus, Signature. Each one is a street address in a real building, not a PO box — and it is not a registered agent.

Business address vs registered agent: two different jobs

Every US state asks an LLC for a registered agent: a person or company with a physical street address in the state of formation, available during business hours to accept lawsuits and official notices. A virtual office address does not do that job on its own.

The business address is the company’s own address — the principal office on state filings, the mailing address for the IRS and your bank, the address on invoices and your website. That is the address this page sells.

How a virtual address works for an LLC

You rent a street address in a staffed business centre and the centre receives your post: you collect it, have it forwarded or scanned. US mail handling at an address like this normally requires USPS Form 1583, signed with ID and notarised.

The address belongs to a real building, so it does not read as a PO box on state forms. Check what your bank asks for: some banks want proof of a lease or service agreement for the address, which the provider issues.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a virtual address for my LLC?
Yes, as the LLC’s business and mailing address. Most states accept a street address in a business centre as the principal office, and it keeps your home address off the public record. Here it starts at $47 a month. The registered agent is still appointed separately.
Can my registered agent and business address be the same?
Only if the same person or company acts as your registered agent at an in-state street address and is there during business hours. A virtual office address by itself is not a registered agent: appoint an agent service, or act as your own agent at a physical address in the state.
How much does a business address for an LLC cost?
From $47 a month for a business address and from $103 for a virtual office with more services, across 2,189 buildings in 35 states. Prices differ by building and city; each listing shows its own plan.
Can an LLC use a PO box as its address?
Not as the registered agent address, and many state forms ask for a street address for the principal office too. That is why LLCs use a virtual address: mail is handled like a PO box, but the address is a real building that state forms and banks accept.
Does the address have to be in the state where the LLC is formed?
No. The registered agent must be in the state of formation; the business address can be anywhere. If the LLC actually does business from an address in another state, that state usually requires it to register there as a foreign LLC. The catalogue covers 35 states, the largest being California (208), Texas (152), Florida (132).
